Brook Christopher, LCSW
Brook is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who prioritizes meeting clients where they are with care and compassion. She treats women from all backgrounds struggling with anxiety, grief, and stress. Brook practices from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) foundation.
ANXIETY
CBT works by identifying and addressing how a person's thoughts and behaviors interact to create anxiety. Therapists work with clients to recognize how negative thought patterns influence a person's feelings and behaviors.
GRIEF
CBT works effectively with difficult grief reactions by taking clients through the stages inherent in the grieving process, and uses both cognitive (thinking) and behavioural techniques (doing) to cope more effectively with both the clinical symptoms of depression/anxiety as well as acting as an aid in the healing process.
STRESS
CBT can provide clients with a new perspective on their situation, enabling one to regain control, reduce the intense physiological and emotional symptoms and adopt effective strategies that will help to deal with stressful situations with more confidence and ease.
